Book Box

Thank you Rhoda, from Southern Hospitality, for the book box and chandelier shades. She had a give away a while back and I was the winner. This is the first prize that I have won in blog land and now that I know how it works I plan to have one here soon.
Not much time for blogging lately. We have had a lot of company and last night my niece Michele and her little daughter came to stay with us until the power that was knocked out by the recent storms comes back on. They are forecasting that it may take 5 days to restore it. I had a hard time sleeping last night amidst the thunder and lightning thinking about all the people that are suffering so as a result of these storms. May God have mercy on us all.
Carrie is coming down later this afternoon so I hope this weather clears up a bit so that she can enjoy some pool time. She has been taking a class this summer on Beaver Island that lasted for three weeks and now has three weeks off before going back for another three week session.
Stay Safe and God Bless,
Sue

  2. I will pray that you get your power back soon. Where I live we have hurricanes and the toughest part is to be prepared when the power goes out. We were hit by hurricane - I think it was Frances 2004 and our power was out for 5 days. Hot, muggy, and miserable. Hard to get ice yuck. We had a gas generator but we only ran it intermitenly to basically keep the freezer and fridge running. We cooked on a camp stove. We also had to go rescue my sister because she forgot to get gas before the storm and was stranded. What a mess, but I am use to it. Where we live now is not right on the coast but when i was a kid my family lived right near the beach. Well we will be praying for. Sincerely Deeny

  3. Sue,
I'm always pleased to see that you've dropped by....

We had a fantastic, blessed visit with Marion and John...just way too brief....we hated to take them back to Atlanta to the airport.....

Thank you and please do continue to pray for Ronald...he has made some progress but then he slips back...he's in his sixth month with a feeding tube and bed ridden...he is sitting up a few minutes at the time....I know God is able to restore his health....I don't know if its His will....

Congratulations on winning Rhoda's giveaway....beautiful book boxes...

    God Bless....Betty

  4. Gosh, I wish I could will some of your rain our way. I can't even remember the last time we had measurable rain here in San Antonio. We will probably have water restrictions soon and my landscape will really suffer :( Stay safe!

  5. I was wondering if you got hit by the storms. We missed the worst of it, tho Cheryl's area got hit pretty hard - lot's of uprooted trees and no power last I heard. They fortunately had a generator.
Hope you and Carrie have fun, looks like there may be a couple days of sunshine.... S

  8. Hi Sue!
Your prize is great, love the book box. And sorry to hear about the bad storms, they've hit us hard too, but not as bad as losing power. You are such a kind person, I can sense it in your words.
    Hugs,
    Rose
