Seasonal Fluff Up

We have a really nice Marshall's not far from here that I like to visit occasionally to freshen things up each season. Last week they had some pretty blue and white flower arrangements that were on sale. On the kitchen table is a really big footed glass container lined with the leaves of Hydrangeas on the bottom and big fluffy blue and white Hydrangeas spilling over the top of it. The two blue bean pots and the Tracey Porter candle sticks give some width to the vertical arrangement.
After redoing the centerpiece on the table the old centerpiece got moved over to the cabinet on the other side of the kitchen eating area. The three plates behind it fill in the blank space at the top and the tall pitchers add some width. The lavender on top of the cupboard was in a pink pot but the blue one seems to work better with this new arrangement.
These blue and white dishes with the roses on them fit into the spaces of the cupboard. These were our dishes at the cottage but now get used when we have extra mouths to fee. After figuring out how to move the shelves around in the cupboards there was room to display the huge blue wine glasses that Sarah got us a couple of years ago for Christmas.
We needed something to keep all the lemons and limes that we use in, so at Marshall's we picked up these two tall footed containers. They had some with lids that were nice too, but the open topped ones seemed like they would be easier to access the fruit with out the possibility of breaking the top.
This smaller vase of blue and white flowers is one of two that we thought would work in the dining room on the buffet but they were to big so this one ended up here and the other one is in the living room.

Marshall's was loaded with goodies last Thursday. It seems like I read somewhere that Thursdays are a good day to go to the discount stores like Marshall's and TJMaxx because they restocked for the weekend. It sure was true last week.

Are y'all having a good summer? We sure are around here with lots of family fun. Wednesday Mom and Dad are coming down for a couple of days and then it will be time to get ready for our 4th of July vacation up north.

Take care and God bless,

  1. Good Morning Sue!
It was wonderful to visit with you this AM! I love your china hutch display, it is gorgeous how you layered things in together, and the bunnies on the top of the hutch look so great! You are one great display artist, I always tell my clients, go all the way to the top of the ceiling, don't leave huge amounts of space! You are super good at making a display count...

Hope all is well with you and yours, hope your weather is great too so you can enjoy your beautiful yard and gardens!
Take care and I will be back to visit soon...

  2. Hi Sue
Everything looks gorgeous. Of course you know I LOVE the blue and white. It's always fun to freshen things up a bit isn't it?
I noticed you had a couple of Tasha Tudor prints on the wall. I just heard that she died on Sunday at the age of 92. I love her work.
    Hugs, Rhondi

  3. Oh Rhondi, I hadn't heard that Tasha Tudor died recently. Yes, those are prints of her's on the wall. I was such a fan of her's and so was my daughter Dana and my friend Sheryl. She was quite an inspiration to many. In fact Dana was telling me the other day that when they were having a discussion in her small group about what famous person they would most like to have lunch with she said Tasha Tudor. Thanks for letting me know that she has passed.

  4. Hi Sue:>) I love your blue and white in the dining room, Everything is just lovely!

  5. I love Marshall's and blue and white too! You're a girl after my own heart. Beautiful!

  6. I need to take your lead and pick up a few things to freshen up around here!

Love the Tracey Porter I have a vase very much like those.

I agree Marshall's on Thursdays seem to be full of goodies.

    Take care,
    Kathy :)

  8. I just LOVE your blue & white wallpaper & hutch full of beautiful things. I also love your Tasha Tudor prints.
Everything you have done looks great!!

  9. Sure wish I had a Marshall's in my town. I love that table arrangement. I actually love all your stuff, come to think of it. Maybe you should "donate" it to us who are less fortunate than you. I mean, after all, I AM less fortunate - I don't have a Marshall's. lol
    Great pictures.

  10. Your home is beautiful. I love the blue and white. Your hydrangea arrangment is gorgeous. I just had a blue hydrangea arrangement made for my hutch. I am a complete novice at blogging and am in awe of your blog.

  11. Sue,
I like all your 'fluffing up'....I can only go so long and then I gotta re-arrange something!

After 13 days in the hospital and many hours of surgery my husband has been released from the hospital and we are home....God is so good in sparing the loss of his leg due to blood clots....

Hope your family are all well...Betty

  12. Hi Sue, I love your white & blue...I have so much of it that I don't use anymore. So sad to read that Tasha Tudor passed away, she was so inspirational.

  13. Love your centerpiece and you have a beautiful china!

Thanks for leaving a comment. I so appreciate it when you take the time to leave a bit of encouragement.
