Praise God, Aaron's head has finally cleared from all of the sedation medicine. He still has the treck in his throat so he can't talk but he was able to write a few words. They have removed the restraints from his arms and he can move them with out pulling off the monitor lines. He is off all medication other than the breathing treatments.

There are still a lot of secretions coming out of his lungs that they have to suction off but his cough is getting stronger and soon will be able to clear his own throat. The nurse told him that he could start doing a couple of simple exercised like arm stretches and leg lifts so he was doing a lot of those through out the afternoon.

Today the speech therapist will be in to check his swallow reflex to see if he can start drinking fluids and begin eating. If all goes well they will cap off the treck so that he will be able to make sounds. When he was read some of the cards that his buddies have sent he even smiled and at some he even laughed out loud.

We hope everyone had a good weekend, we sure did! All glory and honor are yours dear Heavenly Father. Again we thank you for every bit of support that you all have given to Aaron and all of us through your prayers and gestures of good will.

Much love and God bless,
Aaron's family

  1. Good Morning - What wonderful news!
I see you are up early this morning too... Must say I'm not surprised at yesterdays progress, after all it was Sunday and Aaron and your family were once again being lifted up in prayer in church's around the country, but especially here in MP. God Bless you my friend! Sheryl

    Dear Sue,
We are very glad that Aaron is doing better. It has been nice having this blog to read everyday to keep up with his progress. I have started working on a very special chicken broth/soup. I will send two kinds. One will be a pure clear broth and the other I will make into a chicken noodle soup for when he is feeling better and able to eat. There are no added preservatives or added salt, it is one of the best ways I have found to help people get back on their feet during an illness. If the hospital gives you a hard time, assure them I have sterilized everything. I will send it down with Bud when I see him. We continue to keep you all in our prayers.

I just heard about Aaron today from a mutual friend of Angie's. Angie and I were sorority sisters at Ferris. I wanted to let you, Aaron, Angie, and your family know that you will all be in my prayers.

    Sue and Family:
Just read your update for today. How wonderful that Aaron is progressing nicely. Miracles DO happen--"with God all things are possible." (Luke 18:27). I just talked with Brandon, and he said that Aaron may be going home soon. I am so happy for all of you! Take care and God Bless!
