Right To Christmas
Moving right along to Christmas. Time to put away the fall things and get out the Christmas stuff.
We are having about 40 for Thanksgiving this year and when we realized that there will only be three weekends after Thanksgiving until Christmas we discussed decorating the house early for Christmas. Most of the family doesn't get down here when the house is ready for Christmas so we figured that we might as well take the next week to decorate and have it finished for all to enjoy. We may be having Thanksgiving dinner on Christmas plates but, hey, you have to do what you have to to.

More Of A Week At The Guest House
Good morning. Hope you are all well this grey fall day. I just am stopping in to visit a minute.
While staying here for more than a weekend a few changes have been made. See the big double green and white checked chair in the sun porch area. Well, it is the most uncomfortable chair to sit in so I moved it from where the brown rose chair is now out to the sun porch.
This grey day made it possible to take a picture of the shelf over the bank of windows in the great room. Most of the things sitting on the shelf were found in Mom's attic and she so enjoys seeing them out where she can actually get to look at them.

This little guest house is really pretty tiny. This is a shot from off the kitchen. On the left is one bedroom, down the hall to the right is the bathroom and to the back is the other bedroom. You can see how narrow the interior walls are. I think they are just sheets of bead board back-to-back with some studs in between.
This picture show the cottage style closets in the first bedroom.
Walking over to Mom's back door you can see some of the detail of the copper piping, the heavily textured brick and the slate shingle roofing. The house was built in the late '30s using beautiful, durable materials.
They have lived her for about 30 years now and have updated only once in all that time.
The kitchen was done 30 years ago but still functions pretty well. The big faux plants, wallpaper, curtains and bar stools really need to go. The agenda for this week though has been to replace the cookware. Sunday I made pancakes for everyone. That is after replacing the box of Bisquick that expired in 1997.............

~ All Things Are Possible ~
Well, the campaign and election are over and even though my choice for President and Vice President did not win I am happy that it is over. The historical impact of this election can not be over looked. Watching the joy on the faces of those in Grant Park and around the world Tuesday night was so moving that I, a staunch supporter of the other side, made the decision to give our new President the benefit of the doubt. To put aside all the information form all over the place that really might have been true or not true. To give him a chance to show us himself what he stands for. With the grace of God, the change that he promised to bring will be a change that glorifies God our heavenly Father.
Now it is back to the business of life. Back to guarding our hearts and minds from things that try to sway us from our purpose. Back to keeping our priorities in the order that God instructed us to keep them. We know that when we do we will have the peace of the Lord that exceeds all understanding.
We can be good citizens of the world by practicing the virtues of self-discipline, compassion, responsibility, friendship, work, courage, perseverance, honesty, loyalty and faith. With God, all things are possible.
May the fruits of the spirit, which are peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control always be with you as you go about your life as a keeper of home or as what ever your calling is, where ever you are.
Blessings and much love,
Sue

Election Day In The USA
God Bless America
We voted early this morning. We got to the polls at about 6:30 Eastern time and were there for about an hour. Hope you are all well informed on the issues and that when you get out to vote you don't have to stand in line long and that all goes well.

Blake & Nolan
It is hard being away from the grand children. We only live about two hours away but at times like this it seems like a lot farther. These are a few pictures that I borrowed from my daughter Dana's blog of the boys.
This one of Blake in his Mom's Bat Girl costume cracks me up!
Little Nolan as the Pumpkin Boy makes me want to pick him up and give him a big squeeze.

No pictures yet of Aaron and Angie's little Trick or Treater's! Angie, you really need to get a blog........ OK just kidding, but pictures, I need pictures. I'm off to check out Cathy's blog to see if she has pic's of the Colorado gang. I would post a link but it has the family name in it and since my PayPal incident I'm paranoid.
Have a great day all.
Hugs,
Sue

Post Trick or Treat
Hope you all had a good time yesterday and last night with your little ones. We have two big bowls of treats left over that have to find a home today.
