Welcome to my first Blue Monday post. Thanks Sally for the invitation to participate. You can see other Blue Monday posts by visiting Sally's site at Smilingsally. She invites everyone to join in or visit her Blue Monday participants.
I love to decorate with plates. So many of them are little pieces of art on their own.
This Asiatic Pheasant platter anchors an arrangement of other similar plates that are over the mirror in our powder room. This is one of my favorite patterns in the blue and white transfer ware catagory.
These are three English plates have Grecian stamped on the back.
Thanks for coming by and letting me join all you Blue Monday blogger's.
Hugs,
Sue

ReplyDeleteHi Sue! Those plates are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this beautiful post with us. Hope all is well. My girlfriend ended up having a "parasite" after pathology reports came back. How scary!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late visit, Ann. I love those plates. I hope to find those if I can't find good Blue Willow pieces. I love pheasants, I think they are such cool birds.
ReplyDeletePretty plates :-)
ReplyDeleteYou may be able to add to your collection of Asiatic Pheasant plates over time -- keep an eye on flea markets and Ebay and garage sales. People often don't realize when they have a treasure, and you could end up getting som emore plates for a great price :-)
Thanks for visiting our blog :-) I hope to get the loft finished soon!!

Thank you for visiting me today! I think you are right that we have a lot in common. Oh, how I love my plates! My husband once pointed out that we could host a banquet will all the plates I have on our walls. And I love them so much that I have to keep reminding myself that I can't hang any in my boys' newly painted room! At 9 and 6, I don't think they would go for that, but secretly I know that my blue transerware plates would look lovely against that creamy oatmeal color. I'll just keep that to myself, though!
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW, I love that wallpaper in your powder room.
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I have missed your blog! Thanks for looking at Glorious Rooms, because that is how I found you.
I love your house -- I, too, love lots of color, and your house reminds me of The Money Pit -- the big house we sold a couple of years ago. We definitely have similar tastes.
Vis a vis the red walls in the Man Cave: You can't really see it in the pix, but it is really hideous next to all the wood in the millwork and built-ins! If it is going to stay red it needs to be a red that blends in, like a brick red, or terracotta red, for instance. Personally, I would like it a much lighter color because you need a flashlight to get around in there!
I looked back through your blog, and everything is beautiful. I could die happy in that little guest house!
I am putting you on the blogroll.
