Home Town Parade

In many communities around the country fall is the time for college and high school homecomings that often commence with a parade.

Families and friends both young and old gather along the leaf strewn streets to watch the parades.

The children wait with eager anticipation for the parade to pass by. The parade participants often throw candy from their displays which the little ones scramble to gather out of the leaves.

Our parade host and hostess set out this sweet little tray by the bed for me the night before the parade with everything that might possibly be needed for a comfortable stay in their welcoming home.

They have lovingly restored their downtown home over the past couple of years into a place that their family and friends love to spend time in.

Aren't these windows beautiful? This little sun room off of their living room is such a pretty spot.

Here is a picture of the kitchen before the parade viewers arrived that I took just after getting up. Cindy had been up preparing all the delicious food for her guests long before I even got out of bed.

Even in these unsettled times it is a comfort to maintain tradition and enjoy the blessings of the people that we love all gathered together to watch a good old fashioned parade pass by on a beautiful fall day in October.

Hugs,

Sue
