Saturday morning John decided we need this. Sunday afternoon we were having a house full of guests over for a football game watching party. Not much time to rearrange the whole room around to accommodate this great big TV but we did the best we could. The Armour that held our old TV went up into the bedroom and this table from the kitchen moved into the great room to hold up the giant TV.
This morning I looked around on the Internet for entertainment centers and found the one pictured here. It was the best I could come up with to go with the rest of our furniture. So many of the other Pottery Barn type pieces are just to boxy for this spot.
So, my dear blog friends, do any of you have any pictures of entertainment centers in your files or suggestions on where to look? Though I love having a TV that has sound that I can now hear and writing that is big enough for reading, this big black box needs a nice new home.
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteOh what fun when a hubby gets on board with a great idea. That entertainment center would look fabulous.
I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Becky.
I think the one you've pictured is really pretty. I know the pain of trying to house one of these monsters...my hubby brought home a 65" TV and I about had a heart attack! I really appreciate you coming by my blog and for your kind words. Now I'm off to look around your beautiful blog and see what I've been missing!
ReplyDeleteI think the one you showed is pretty. Have you thought about hanging it on the wall? That's what we are going to do with ours but it is not as big as yours.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
LeAnn:)
I did think about hanging it on the wall but John insists that it be in a cabinet where you can close the doors.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same problem....TV just sitting on a cute dresser that I re-purposed but a bit too big to fit in.
ReplyDeleteFunny how guys can be picky about some things. Especially when it is something to do with decorating! :-) I love the one you posted, it's gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteI saw a couple lovely ones at losangelesfurniture.com .
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog. As you can see your blog inspired me and I had to list it on my favorite places! Your house is absolutely gorgeous. I especially loved your fall cupcake display! :)
Michelle
That's really a gorgeous piece. I am seeing so many of those now on craigslist because so many are hanging up their tvs. I do however, love to close the doors on my tv area. You might be able to find a pretty one, used!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of it being in a cabinet and this one is beautiful! Thanks so much for the visit and sweet somments about my fireplace!
Hugs~Kelly
Hi Sue!
ReplyDeleteI love Ballard Designs for entertainment centers, they have the bigger ones to fit the huge mega TV's now...
Hope you had a lovely party!
XO,
Donna Lynn
This one pictured would be so pretty in your home. Ballard has such things...and I did see several at a local furniture store.
ReplyDeleteEthan Allen would have them, Pennsylvania House...places like that.
I know they are out there! Our Tv is smaller than this but we have it is an armoire that I got years ago. It came froim Ethan Allen and is stripped pine. I love it still and it houses the TV and those ugly cable boxes so well.
Oh but I love the color of your walls and those lovely paintings with the blie and white against it all!
Love,
Sue
That is simply exquisite for a mundane problem...the big TV. I found something I could live with, regret hubby talked me into a TV in main living room. But if it has to be there, this is not too bad. I'll post some pictures of it.
ReplyDeleteXOXO!
We have our large TV on an antique buffet. I want to eventually make the drawers into HINGED doors....so they just look like a drawer, but is really hiding the surround sound and the DVD player, etc.... Your area looks like it would be a nice area for a buffet and would still go with your theme of you house.
