Every thing looks so much better with a good dusting. When things are clean the whole area sparkles and shines. These porcelain fruit pieces are in the kitchen that got a good scrubbing on Monday after the football party. Tuesday I took apart the living room putting the end tables and small pieces into the hall while the carpet and baseboards got a good cleaning. The upholstered pieces were cleaned, the pillows were banged together to get rid of the dust and the seat cushions were flipped over. Everything was wiped down before it went back to its resting place.
Tuesday nights John rides his bike with his biker friends so I didn't have to cook dinner. After all the cleaning during the day I settled into the fluffy clean couch with my new Charles Faudre book for an evening of bliss.
Yesterday I went looking for an entertainment center for the big TV. The one I had pictured in the post below is too small. The ones I found that I like are so $$$$. Today the search continues. Thanks for all the tips, I'm going to check them out today too.
Have a great day y'all and if you have the time tear apart a room and give it a good scrubbing and enjoy the fruits of your labor even if the rest of the house is less than polished.
Hugs,
Sue
I'm with you on the cleaning and scrubbing. Yesterday I took plates off the wall and washed them. Hate to admit that they had probably been hanging there 6 years without me even thinking about washing them. What a difference!!
ReplyDeletei love getting the house so VERY CLEAN and then taking a shower, putting my bathrobe on and just enjoying it. Wendy
ReplyDeleteMy kind of lady!! I love to clean! I could do it daily...but I am learning to take more time for me! Nancy
ReplyDeleteAhhh doesn't it feel so nice after a good fresh cleaning of your house, I love that. Althogh I have to enjoy it quick, cause with three boys and dogs mine doesnt stay that way for long! I just have to do it often.

A good scrub down is so worth it - lots of hard work and such a great feeling when you're done!
ReplyDeleteI have tagged you, my friend!
Sue,
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to start cleaning when I get home.
Everything looks lovely, cleaned and polished! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend, Sue!

FUN Fall decor! Here it is still like SUMMER... UGH... HOT!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue for your prayers concerning my dad! You are so sweet! Indeed God is good! I love your fall decor...so warm and cozy! And don't you just love it when the house is sparkling clean and smelling sweet?! I know you do...me too!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
Ruthann
I will vicariously live through your polishing...I have so many other things to clean, it feels like I will never get to that...one day at a time. :) HOpe you had fun on your hunt.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! I just spent the week scrubbing and organizing my nightmere of a hall closet. But, it sure does feel good to have it done! And I feel very housewife-y when I polish the piano and dust the bookshelves.
ReplyDeleteHow's the cabinet hunting going? You've already done a great job of incorporating the tv into your decor! Reading your other comments made me feel better about my tendency to avoid dusting, however seeing how shiny your "eye candy" looks is inspiring me to tackle the much neglected living room today! Hugs - Sheryl
ReplyDeleteI really need to do that. My house needs a good deep cleaning. I love those fruit pieces...gorgeous. cherry
ReplyDeleteHi Sue!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by! I have been so busy that I have not had any time to do anything with my blog! The kids started school so I have running around to do after work...picking them up after school...games...etc....
Do you ever watch HGTV? They had a house from Cheboygan, Michigan on there for "Most Amazing Waterfront Homes". Also there will be a family from Holt, Michigan (I pass their home on the way to work) on "Extreme Makeover Home Edition". They had the road blocked off this morning because they have been working 24/7 getting the new home built. I will let you know a time and a day of the show when I hear something. Have a great day my friend!
Hugs ~ Gail :)
OH Sue, I have been doing the same thing here! I have just finished cleaning out all my heater vents, washing the vent covers and sucking out the dirt and stuff that fell in this summer, also cleaned my heater filters and washed off the dust on the top of the returns! I love knowing that when I turn on the heater, it won't blow out a bunch of dust and yuck all over the house!
ReplyDeleteIt is 80' here today, a record, and I have the doors open and am enjoying the fresh crisp air too! I was able to pick my apples and can some apple sauce and make two pies, one for the freezer for later! That has been such fun too...
Hope your week will be beautiful!
XO,
Donna Lynn
Sue,
ReplyDeleteSeems like my cleaning never ends. I feel as though that is all I do when I get home from work. But it's nice to have a clean home, and I'm sure my kids and hubby appreciate it. Good luck on your search, can't wait to see what you find.
Hugs,
Rose

Hi Sue :)
ReplyDeleteI need to do the same thing, but I only have time to do some light cleaning lately. My house needs a deep cleaning and you've inspired me :)
hugs,
rue
Yes, I love freshly polished surfaces. We have guests coming in for the weekend, so it's time for a good scrubbing for sure. Have a great one, Sue! Miss you!
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteWe've been away to our cabin in the mountains for a week winterizing it...no blogging...no internet there.
I came home in a cleaning mood...so liberating...
I also appreciate Charles Faudre...His different homes with his King Charles Spaniels are always so charming.....
Ronald went home Wednesday...we visited he and his wife Dean this afternoon...he has made so much progress...God is so faithful...at one point I didn't think he would make it....prayer certainly changes things....
God bless...Betty
